AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch

Gas Prices in the State of Texas are down 5 cents this weekend at $1.79 a gallon of regular unleaded fuel.

Amarillo is seeing an 11 cent drop in prices to $1.62.

Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in Odessa are paying the most on average at $2.02 while drivers in Sherman-Denison are paying the least at $1.62 per gallon. 

The Sherman-Denison area also has the lowest gas price average of any metro area surveyed by AAA across the U.S. this week.

The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.12, which is three cents less when compared to this day last week and 49 cents less than the price per gallon at this same time last year.
