A Golden Year For College Broadcasters at WT

KWTS 91.1 FM is West Texas A&M’s college radio station, and this year is one to celebrate.

The station has reached the milestone of broadcasting to the Texas Panhandle for 50 years.

First hitting the airwaves in 1972, the college has seen impressive growth from 10 watts to 100 watts and has been at 6,000 watts since 1998.

Professor Randy Ray, KWTS Advisor has been involved with the program as a student and teacher and is excited about the golden anniversary.

More news will be coming from their studio Friday when Randy joins Marty Kuhlman during his show from 7 to 9 to talk about the upcoming celebration and another big reveal.
