The Amarillo Police Department is holding a special recruiting night Thursday for female officers.

Chief Ken Funtek tells us about the event.

Funtek added that recruits will receive great training along with the use of the newest equipment.

To find out how to become one of Amarillo’s Finest, the event will be tonight from 5 pm till 7 at the Amarillo Police Department 200 South East 3^rd.

And remember you must apply by May 31^st to get in the 95^th APD Academy that begins in December.
