24 hours In The Canyon Canceled

Recent rainstorms in the area have forced the cancelation of 24 Hours In the Canyon. The event had been scheduled for June 3rd and 4th.

Park officials say the recent storms have caused the destruction of trails and roadways with mudslides, rock falls, and flash flooding, and their priority is the safety of riders, racers, volunteers, and families.

They go on to say the damage is simply not fixable in time for the weekend races.

Camping will still be available for the weekend, but no rest stops, meals, or other amenities will be provided.

Trails and parking lots closed include Lighthouse Parking Lot, Juniper Tent area and Cave Parking Lot.

Packet pickups will still take place at the Northwest Texas Healthcare System behavioral health center., a family pick-up party on Friday at the Mack Dick Pavilion from 4;00 to 8;00 p.m. on Friday, and the Premier Party for ticket holders is expected to still take place.
