2 Dead After Wreck In Sherman County Sunday

2 people have died after a traffic accident near Sherman County on Sunday.

At 6:20 pm, a 2018 Ford Fusion driven by 34-year-old Arika Smith of Guymon, Oklahoma was traveling south on US 54 behind a 2019 Peterbilt Truck tractor towing a semi-trailer.

The Fusion tried to pass the semi and struck a 2020 Kia Optima driven by Diane Wagner of Butternut, Wisconsin head-on, causing Smith to go airborne and struck the semi.

Smith and Wagner both died at the scene and were Pronounced deceased by Sherman County Justice of the Peace, Brenda Acker.
