2 Dead After Sunday Camper Fire in Amarillo

The Amarillo Fire Department says two people have died after a camper fire on Sunday, July 16th.

Crews were called to the 2400 block of Northwest 1st Street at 11 am about a fire threatening a nearby structure, and when they arrived they found a camper engulfed behind the residence.

The blaze was under control within 5 minutes, after which firefighters entered the camper and discovered the two deceased individuals.

Officials have said they died due to injuries sustained during the fire, but the Amarillo Fire Marshall ruled the cause as undetermined pending further investigation.
