Jerry Hodge Passes Away

According to sources close to him, Jerry Hodge has passed away. He was 81.

Known for his philanthropy and as a local businessman, Hodge was also mayor of Amarillo from 1977 to 1981, having served on the city council from 1973 to 1977.

Friends of Mr. Hodge say he passed away early Thursday.

Mayor Cole Stanley issued the following in a press release, “We just learned of the passing of one of Amarillo’s dearest leaders. Jerry Hodge has left a legacy of servant leadership in Amarillo. And will always be remembered as a true professional. Our prayers are with his family and closest friends.”

Chairman and founder of Maxor National Pharmacy Services, Mr. Hodge is the namesake for the TTHSU Jerry Hodge School of Pharmacy, and Hodgetown, home of the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
