W T Professor Pleads Guilty

A former West Texas A and M professor has pleaded guilty to one count of violating the Endangered Species Act.

Richard Kazamier pleaded guilty to knowingly transporting, receiving, acquiring, and possessing the wildlife knowing it had been imported in violation of any law, regulation, or treaty of the U.S.

According to court documents from March 2nd, 2017 to February 2020, Kazamier imported everything from a golden jackal to a Eurasian otter and a crab-eating fox.

Both the prosecution and Kazamier are agreeing to recommend to the court that he pay a 5-thousand dollar fine.
