No Omicron Cases Reported In Amarillo

Amarillo Public Health Department Head Cassie Stoughton says there’s  no Omicron variant confirmed in Amarillo.

Still, Stoughton says with the increase in cases, there is no reason to believe that the variant is not here.

She stresses that it’s super important to get vaccinated, wear masks and stay home if you’re sick because prevention is the key factor with the variant going around.

The APH reports 617 new cases Covid-19 cases 194 new recoveries and eight deaths in Potter and Randall counties, yesterday, with both counties Totalling near 4-thousand active cases.

The Department has enough rapid antigen tests and Polymers Chain Reaction supplies for the time being. She says the supplies are more than enough for right now.

Department claims Sotromivab is working well, but the infusion clinic is only allowed to give it to people who are Covid positive because of supply issues of the drug.
