1 Dead After Wellington Manor Apartment Fire

One person has died after a fire at a local apartment complex.

The Amarillo Fire Department responded to the Wellington Manor Apartments at 4:22pm and found a moderate amount of smoke coming from an apartment and once inside found a fire in the kitchen.

One person was located inside the apartment and was removed through a bedroom window and transported the patient to a local hospital in critical condition but died at the hospital.

The Amarillo Fire Marshal’s Office ruled the fire as “accidental cooking.”
