A suspect is now in police custody after two carjacking robberies that occurred Monday afternoon. DPS says David Antonio Silva was taken into custody around 5:30 Monday evening after being pulled over near panhandle while driving one of the stolen vehicles.

Around 4:15 Monday, officers were called out to the Walmart on Canyon Drive where a 60-year-old victim said a Hispanic male dressed in all black forced him out of his car and driving off in a Dodge Ram. Around 4:25 pm, police were also called out to the Market Street on Georgia on another stolen car report. A woman told police that a man with the same description forced her out of the vehicle and drove off in a Nissan SUV.

APD was able to recover the stolen pickup from the first car robbery in the market street parking lot. Silva is currently in police custody at the Carson County Sheriff’s office and no injuries were reported in either incident.
