Golden Spread Agri-Business Hour

  • Monday-Saturday 5:00am-6:00am

KGNC Agribusiness Director James Hunt has spent more than thirty years working as a communications professional in the news media and in politics. His coverage of agribusiness earned him the Texas Farm Bureau’s “Excellence in Agricultural Journalism” award in 2015. During James’ time as KGNC news director in the 1990s, our radio station received international exposure as his news coverage of Texas Panhandle events resulted in James being interviewed by the BBC, Newsweek, People, Fox News, and other major news organizations. He was also an interview guest on Leeza Gibbons’ television show and MTV and made an appearance in Beyond the Mat (a documentary about professional wrestling). James has also worked as a communications director for a U.S. congressman, a state senator, and a livestock trade association. He is also a former newspaper editor and television reporter.
