(Undated) — A handful of Texas schools are represented in the 68-team NCAA Tournament. The Longhorns earned a 10-seed and will face Nevada in the South Bracket. TCU locked up a six-seed and will face either Arizona State or Syracuse in the Midwest Region. Texas A&M is a seven-seed and meets Providence in the West Bracket. Texas Tech snatched up a three-seed faces Stephen F. Austin in the East Bracket. The first round games will be played Thursday and Saturday.
Rockets Cruise Past Mavericks Without Harden
(Dallas, TX) — The Rockets didn’t have James Harden but still cruised to a 105-82 win over the Mavericks in Dallas. Eric Gordon finished with a team-high 26 points for Houston. Harden sat out with a sore left knee. Dwight Powell finished with a team-high 20 points for Dallas. The Mavs shot just 5-of-31 from beyond the arc and has lost four-of-six.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — Alexander Radulov scored the lone goal for the Stars in a 3-1 loss to the Penguins in Pittsburgh. Kari Lehtonen gave up two goals on 29 shots as the Stars lost for the third time in four games. Dallas has 82 points in the standings and currently holds the top Wild Card. Harvick Continues Hot Streak In Phoenix
(Avondale, AZ) — For the third straight week, Kevin Harvick is the winner of the NASCAR Monster Energy Series race. Harvick took the checkered flag to win the TicketGuardian 500 at ISM Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. He edged out Kyle Busch on the final lap to secure the victory. Harvick also won last weekend in Las Vegas and two weeks ago in Atlanta. Busch ended in second while Chase Elliot finished third. Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Junior rounded out the top five. The West Coast road trip continues for NASCAR next weekend at the Auto Club 400 in Fontana, California.
Tiger Falls Just Short At Valspar Championship
(Palm Harbor, FL) — Tiger Woods fell just short of winning the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook, missing a birdie attempt on the 18th hole that would of forced a playoff. Woods carded a one-under par to finish at minus-nine for the tournament. Paul Casey fired a six-under 65 in Sunday’s final round to win the tournament at minus-10. It’s Casey’s first PGA Tour victory since 2009. Patrick Reed shared second place with Woods, while Sergio Garcia finished fourth at eight-under. Amarillo Native Ryan Palmer finished in a tie for 28th at 2-under.
NFL Free Agency Starts Today
(Frisco, TX) — NFL teams can begin negotiating with free agents today. Deals cannot be officially signed until Wednesday. Top free agents for Dallas include receiver Brice Butler, linebacker Anthony Hitchens, and offensive tackle Byron Bell. The 2018 NFL Draft kicks off at AT&T Stadium, starting April 26th.
