Mayor Ginger Nelson Talks Meetings, Decorum & Letter

The recent arrest of a citizen at an Amarillo City Council meeting has raised the issue of decorum and free speech.

Texas Representative Tony Tinderholt of District 94 released a letter on Thursday he had written to Amarillo Mayor Ginger Nelson addressing an apparent abuse of power.

We sat down with Mayor Nelson on Friday afternoon to talk about council meetings and disruptions.


Nelson said it is very important that to allow for true expression and complete participation in the democratic process, an atmosphere of civility and safety must exist.
