Two separate incidents of exploding packages in Austin Texas this morning have killed one teenager and has injured two women.

The first incident happened around 7 am in an East Austin home where a 17-year-old male was killed and a 40-year-old woman was seriously injured.

A second explosion took place around 11:50 am at a home in the city’s southeast side and sent a 70-year-old woman to the hospital with life threating injuries.

The packages were left apparently in the overnight hours and not delivered by services like The U.S. Postal Service, United Parcel Services or FedEx.

In an earlier incident March 2, Anthony Stephan House, 39, was killed when a package exploded at his northeast Austin home.

Police in Austin say “similarities” between two the deadly package explosions lead them to believe the incidents are related.
