Amarillo Man Dies After Wreck North of Pampa

An Amarillo man has died after a wreck near Pampa. Around 4 Tuesday afternoon, 22-year-old Cesar Martinez of Amarillo was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 Van southbound on Highway 70 when he dropped his cell phone. His passenger, 26-year-old Javier Reyna of Canyon bent down to pick it and according to DPS officials, Martinez may have taken his eyes off the road. The car veered into the northbound sideswiping a 2016 Kenworth Truck Tractor pulling flatbed trailer. Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene, Reyna was taken to Pampa Regional Medical Center and released. The Driver of the other vehicle was un injured.
